A few health departments in the Kansas City region have been hard at work improving how they track and publish COVID-19 data for their jurisdictions.
Recently, the Kansas City, Missouri, Health Department unveiled an updated data dashboard that incorporates daily updates for total cases and deaths, among other improvements.
Yesterday, the Jackson County Health Department also launched an updated dashboard, which highlights recent 7-day and 14-day trends in COVID-19 activity.
We applaud public health agencies’ commitment to applying best practices to their data communications. The new dashboards incorporate important elements of the latest best practices in presenting COVID-19 data.
On a related note, readers may notice a moderate spike in cases on the MARC Regional COVID-19 Data Hub. This spike is due to recent modest delays in reporting as our partners were hard at work improving their data tools. These cases will be backdated to the date of their occurrence as quickly as possible.
